Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very early on how to conquer of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly vibrant imagination. Before she learned to read and write Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. After 8 years of age, she had her very first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The same year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. While she was studying, she established a name for herself in the local music scene. However, her goal was to be able to perform at a much greater size. The singer moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Her first charting records with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated show on TV at the time was searching for a singer for his program. Parton began her career in 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene oversold her collaborations. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at the top spot at No. The first time it made it to the top spot was in 1974.
