Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@/ 'goUmez/s@–LEE/ GOH-m; July 22, 1992) was an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez's acting career started on the popular children's television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). As a teenager she gained acclaim for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez was also a part of several films which include Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also starred in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez is the director of July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). Gomez also produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez has been praised for her work and received nominations for an award such as a Golden Globe Award. She also won the Primetime Emmy Award for producer. Gomez has released three albums with her former group, Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene. All three albums made it into the top ten on the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun goes down (2011). Her debut album as a solo artist, Stars Dance (2013) was a top album on the U.S. Billboard 200, and its main track "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's sophomore album, Revival (2015) was released at number 1 in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and spawned three top-ten tracks in the US: "Good for You""Same old Love" and "Hands to Myself". Her third studio album, Rare (2020), became her third consecutive number one album in the US and also its first track, "Lose You to Love Me" was her first number one hit across the US and Canada. She also released Revelacion in Spanish in 2017, which was a big hit and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won numerous accolades including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. In addition, she broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most powerful people worldwide in 2020. Her following is huge on social media platforms and is the most followed actress and musician on Instagram. Gomez's other ventures include clothing, makeup scent, fragrance, and handbag lines. She has collaborated with numerous charitable organizations , and was a UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
